THE PSNI have carried out fresh searches on the Derry offices of Saoradh earlier today.

The searches at Junior McDaid House in Chamberlain Street comes less than 24 hours after eight men faced Derry Magistrates’ Court charged with taking part in an illegal dissident republican parade in Creggan on Easter Monday.

Two of them were also charged with displaying a snowman armed with an RPG rocket launcher last year in the window of Saoradh’s office.

In a statement on  its Facebook, the political wing of the ‘New IRA’, said: “The Saoradh national office, Junior McDaid House, is once again being targeted by British Crown Forces this morning.

“In addition to this, a Saoradh activist based in Creggan is also getting his home targeted; with RUC thugs having destroyed his front door with a stihl saw to gain access.

A whole in the front door of a Saoradh activist’s home in Creggan which was cut open by police with a stihl saw

“This comes less than 24 hours after Sinn Fein’s Raymond McCartney called for his RUC “Paramilitary task force” to take action on the ground.”
