SINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed news he has received from the Western Division at the Department of Infrastructure that urgent pothole repairs are to be carried out in the Garden City area of Derry.
Councillor Cooper said: “I have been liaising with the Department over the issue of pot holes in Garden City and the Lisnarea Avenue area following a number of complaints from local residents.
“The residents had complaints that their vehicles were damaged due to the pot holes and there is also the whole issue of road safety with drivers swerving to avoid these potholes and concern that this could lead to a much more serious accident.
“I am pleased to have received confirmation that any actionable potholes over 50 mm deep have been marked for repair and that these repairs will take place shortly,” he added.
