THREE men aged 30, 36 and 44 arrested earlier this week under the Terrorism Act by Detectives from the PSNI Paramilitary Crime Task Force investigating ongoing INLA activity in Derry have been released unconditionally.

The 30 year old male has been charged with possession of Class B controlled drug.

He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 4 April.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The 27 year old man arrested yesterday, Wednesday, March 7, remains in custody.

People arrested under The Terrorism Act must be charged, released pending report to the Public Prosecution Service or released unconditionally – bail is not permitted under this legislation.

Interviews under arrest are a key part of all investigative strategies and the police service is committed to following all lines of enquiry to keep our communities safe from those who would seek to cause serious harm.
