POLICE are warning the public in Derry to be on their guard against Christmas burglars looking for easy pickings over the coming weeks.

A Foyle spokesperson said: “It’s that time of the year again folks!! Christmas shopping time for our burglars.

“Please read the leaflet in the pictureS and take on our Christmas Crime Prevention Tips.

“Let’s not make it easy for would-be thieves or burglars to destroy the Season of Goodwill.

“Also, be a good neighbour and report any suspicious activity to Police on 101. #PSNICrimePrevention

Not only to crooks target homes, they are also on the look out for easy and rich pickings from unattended cars.

The advice from police is to place all presents out of sight, particularly in a locked boot.

Don’t leave presents, handbags, purses, wallets or mobile phones in full view for burglars.

It just puts temptation in their way.

Tips to beat the burglars this Christmas
