POLICE are hunting a light fingered crook following the report of a theft from a van in Derry.

The PSNI say that between 8.30 pm and 12 midnight last Friday, November the van was broken into and a sum of cash stolen whilst it was parked in the Glenside Road area.

Investigating officer Constable Willis has appealed to anyone who was in the area and noticed anyone acting suspiciously to contact police at Strand Road on the 101 non-emergency number, quoting reference 28 11/11/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111,” added Constable Willis.
