DERRY City says it is pleased to announce that first team manager Kenny Shiels has extended his contract until the end of the 2019 season.

And Shiels is also pleased to be staying on at the Brandywell club and build on his work with the players.

Said Kenny: ““I am delighted that the chairman has shown faith in me. When someone shows faith in me it makes me want to go out and work all the harder to bring success to the club.”

The Co Derry man has led City to European football for the last two years with consecutive top four finishes.

“The 2018 Season will kick off in February 2018 and the club will be delighted to have Kenny Shiels and the Candystripes #BackAtTheBrandy,” said Derry City on its website.
