THE PSNI in Derry on the trail of a thief who abandoned a stolen car in the city in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesperson said: “Ballyarnett NPT on mobile patrol located a black Volkwagen Golf in suspicious circumstances shortly after midnight today.
“It was reported as stolen a short time later.
“We are glad to recover this vehicle on behalf of the owner.
“But we would also like to catch up with the thief who took it.
“If you saw the vehicle in the Skeoge area around midnight please get in touch on the 101 number or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“In the meantime it will be recovered and forensically examined.”
