SEARCH OPERATION RECOVERS REMAINS OF MISSING MARK GALLAGHER FROM RIVER FOYLE

foylesearchand-rescuePOLICE say that a search operation has recovered a body.from the River Foyle.

The search operation was being conducted by the volunteers of Foyle Search and Rescue.

In a statement, the PSNI said: “Unfortunately a body was recovered from the River Foyle this morning.

“It is believed to be that of missing person Mark Gallagher.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and the body has been taken for a post mortem examination and to be identified.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.”

Searches are continuing for missing Niall McLaughlin who is also feared to have the waters of the River Foyle
