THE Western Trust has been supporting World Mental Health Day (10 October 2017) by encouraging staff to wear something yellow to raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace as part of the ‘Not myself today’ campaign.
Stephen Donnelly, Western Trust Recovery Team Manager said: “We are delighted to support World Mental Health Day today by holding a very successful public information stand in the Main Foyer at the Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex.
“Staff and visitors had the opportunity to find out more about mental health recovery services in the Western Trust area.
“The Recovery College Autumn 2017 prospectus was recently launched and offers a range of free educational courses and workshops designed to promote mental health well-being and recovery.
“The aim of the courses is to support people with mental health issues on a journey of recovery by encouraging them to make the best use of their talents and resources.
“The Western Trust launched the My Mind App in 2014 which allows service users to access evidence-based, up to date information about mental health issues and the services available to them including contact details for local support groups and organisations.
“We currently provide recovery services to people with mental health issues and the My Mind App has been instrumental in helping the Trust deliver a more effective service to those clients, families and their carers who require mental health services.
“Mental Health is everyone’s business and we all need to look after our mental health. It is important to know that there is help and support available if you or a family member is struggling with a mental health issue,” Stephen added.
