‘NO JURY, NO PRIZE’ ART EXHIBITION MOVES TO STRABANE’S ALLEY THEATRE GALLERY

THE ‘No Jury, No Prize’ art exhibition featuring the work of amateur and professional artists from the North West will be hosted for the first time this year at The Alley Theatre Gallery in Strabane.

It is an annual celebration of creativity, inspired by the artistic experimentation and egalitarian ethos of the Salon des Refusés and the Société des Artistes Indépendants in 19th century Paris.

There will be ‘no jury or prizes’ and all work will be shown, unless it breaches the gallery’s basic standards. You also don’t need to be a professional to enter and all submissions are welcome.  The art work can be in any medium including drawing, painting, a film, a photograph, an installation or a sculpture.

This artist-run exhibition started at the London Street Gallery in 2013, as part of the City of Culture, and since then has been shown every year at Fort Dunree. This year, however, it moves to a new venue – The Alley Theatre Gallery in Strabane – as it aims to encourage even more artists from the North West to participate.

Organisers ‘ArtLink’ and ‘Creative Village Arts’ are looking forward to another amazing exhibition, celebrating the creative talent of the North West.

For any artist in the Strabane area who wishes to participate, please bring along one art work only to the Alley Theatre reception area on the submission date – Saturday 14th October, between 11am and 2 pm.

Please label your art work on the back and complete a submission form, which can be found online for downloading and printing off at www.creativevillagearts.com

The ‘No Jury, No Prize’ art exhibition will then open to the public on Monday 23 October until Friday 17 November at The Alley Theatre Gallery, Railway Street, Strabane.

We look forward to seeing you all at the exhibition!
