PSNI WARNING: PAVEMENTS ARE FOR PEOPLE, NOT FOR CARS

POLICE are warning motorists they will be handed down tickets if they are found to be parking on pavements and obstructing pedestrians.

PSNI Foyle posted on its Facebook page: “Foyleside & the Moor neighbourhood team issued nine tickets this afternoon to vehicles that were obstructing a footpath on Duncreggan Road.

“This was in response to concerns from local residents and pedestrians.

“Despite advice and guidance given out during freshers week and to other vehicle users in the area over the past two weeks, vehicles continue to park illegally in this area.

“Please be mindful of where you are parking. Any vehicles found to be obstructing a footpath, parked within 15m of a junction or parking of double yellow lines will be issued with a £30 ticket.

“Drivers consider yourselves warned!”
