SINN Féin’s Elisha McCallion has welcomed the news of a major expansion and jobs boost by Derry food company Primrose.

Owners Ciaran and Melanie Breslin announced yesterday they were opening a new cafe-bistro on Strand Road creating 40 new jobs.

The Foyle MP said:  “I welcome the news that forty new jobs will be created with Primrose opening a new café-bistro on the Strand Road following on from the opening of two outlets at Carlisle Road and along the riverfront over recent years.

“I wish them every success and this comes at a time when a number of other new building projects are taking place along the Lower Strand Road which will hopefully increase footfall through the area,” she added.
