Donnacadh Maguire lovingly described as a ‘wee angel’ by his devastated uncle Cahir Killen

A MAN who had been arrested over the death of Donnacadh Maguire has been released on police bail.

The suspect was detained yesterday morning after a road traffic collision in Derry’s Tyrconnell street.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

PSNI Inspector O’Brien said: “While it is possible that Donnacadh’s injuries were sustained as the result of a collision with a vehicle, we are working to establish exactly what happened and we are keen to speak to witnesses.

“I would ask anyone who was on Tyrconnell Street yesterday  morning between 10 am and 10.30 am to please get in touch with officers in Strand Road or the Collision Investigation Unit by calling 101, quoting reference number 390 of 11/07/17.”

Donnacadh’s tragic death has led to a huge outpouring of grief and also many messages of sadness and support to his sorrowing family.

His devastated uncle Cahir Killen posted on his Facebook page yesterday morning: “Just woke to the very sad news of the sudden death of my We Nephew Donnacha.

“Rest in Peace my wee angel.”
