This is Anne McGowan’s son who was brutally assaulted in Derry this week

A MUM has taken to social media in a bid to try and find the attackers who assaulted one of her sons in Derry this week.

Anne McGowan posted a picture of her son on Facebook which shows his horrific injuries following the attack in the early hours of Thursday morning at the bottom of Shipquay Street.

He has a badly bruised and swollen right, cuts below the same eye near this tear duct.

Her son also cuts underneath his nose and his top lips is swollen.

It is evident her son was viciously assaulted and those who carry out the senseless attack need to be taken off the streets of the city.

In her message, his mum said: “Folks need a bit of help here please, one of my sons was attacked in the early hours of Thursday morning somewhere between bottom of Shipquay St and the Tower museum.

“If anyone has seen or knows anything can they send me a pm please.

“Also a big thank you to the people who came to his aid, it was really appreciated x.”

So if you witnessed her son being assaulted you should bring forward the information so those who attacked Anne’s son are brought to justice.
