The father-of-five (52) hit out after knife-wielding attackers launched an attack along London Bridge on Saturday night that left seven dead and 21 in a critical condition.
He said hours after the latest terrorist carnage to strike the UK: “Terrible, terrible news from London.
“And this strengthens my point about the concert in Manchester. I understand why they are putting it on but for me it’s too early.”
The drry musician added in a Facebook post he wrote on Sunday morning he was “not looking for a debate” on his comments.
He stressed: “This is just my opinion”, before referring to the victims of the London Bridge attack by adding: “Prayers to the families of last night’s attack”.
