POLICE in Derry have highlighted the case of a driver who was caught not once but TWICE in the space of a few weeks driving with no insurance.

The PSNI in Foyle say the driver even denied the silver Ford car belonged to him earlier today, Monday, May 15.

But when the recovery truck came to tow it away, the cheeky chappy asked for to retrieve some of his personal items from the vehicle he claimed had “nothing to do with him!”

Police say Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team were patrol today when they caught again with the driver who had no insurance.

FSNI Foyle said on its Facebook page: “We reported this fella for driving with No Insurance, No Licence etc just 2 weeks ago.

“Low and behold who do we find driving this car 🚗and quickly leaving the scene? You guessed it – same fella.

“Well he denied everything.

“Supposedly the car was nothing to do with him. Fine then – we thought – let’s jack this bad boy up and get it onto a truck 🚛

“This is when our fellas ‘Iron Clad’ defence became a little unstuck as he needed his two car seats, cash, tools and favourite coat removed from the car he ‘knew nothing about’ before it was towed away.”
