Cllr Cooper recently highlighted the issue of illegal dumping

SINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has said Council enforcement officers are to move on illegal dumpers in the Rosemount area.

He added that a new initiative is to be launched in the next few weeks to tackle illegal dumping.

Councillor Cooper said: “I have highlighted the continued problem of illegal dumping in the general Rosemount area for some time now.

“And I have been working directly with Council officials to explore all avenues to tackle this issue.

“They have told me that they have been gathering evidence of those involved and that they will be moving on the culprits.

“It’s hoped that the rubbish left in recent days in a number of locations will be cleared in the next twenty-four hours.

“I am also working with the Council on a new initiative that is to be launched in the next few weeks to tackle the blight of  illegal dumping.”
