The festival is organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council and is supported by SGN Natural Gasand the Strabane Business Improvement District (BIDS).

The Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Alderman Hilary McClintock has praised the local businesses (BIDS) for organising such a prestige event which will add to the Summer Jamm programme, which will run from 9th until 11th June.

Speaking at the launch of the event, the Mayor said, “Summer Jamm in Strabane has risen to be one of Council’s most popular events of the year.

“It is great news that the festival has been extended to now run over three days, meaning more fun and more entertainment for everyone.

“Having viewed the programme I can guarantee there will be family friendly activities to suit everyone in the festival. I expect this year will be even more popular with the mix of rising and established stars on the programme.

“I encourage everyone to save the dates and come join us for a great weekend in Strabane.”

Michael Kelly, owner of MK’s Bar who is a Director in the Strabane Business Improvement District Company (BID) said:

“We are delighted to bring a new event of this scale to Strabane Town. Strabane is a forward looking place and this event offers us the opportunity to build on the success of the Summer Jamm and to create an impact for the town.

“This year’s festival is hopefully the start of a showpiece annual event for Strabane – the foundation for a bigger and even more ambitious Summer Jamm in 2018.”

The Summer Jamm festival will begin on Friday 9th June with the Three Rivers playing in the Alley Theatre. Saturday day time events will include family fun activities and music around every corner.
