Jack Glenn with his sister Katie who had searching day and night along the River Foyle for her brother

THE sister of Jack Glenn has paid a moving tribute to him as his remains were recovered this afternoon from the River Foyle.

Katie Glenn has spent every day at what the family called ‘Camp Jacko’ which became the focal point for the search operation for almost eight weeks.

The PSNI say they are awaiting formal identification of the body but the Glenn family are firmly convinced the remains are that of Jack.

His loving sister also thanked all the boat crews and volunteers who searched the waters and the land along the shore in the hope of finding Jack.

Katie wrote: “As I walk over the pallets from camp jacko for the very last time my emotions r everywhere, a feeling of joy my beautiful brother is out of that awful river but also such sadness as it’s really hit home now il never see your smart little smile again 💔💔 #

“The past 7 and a half weeks have been the hardest thing iv ever been through but I NEVER gave up! morning none and night I tramped up and down that river mucked to my eye balls , standing by a fire for heat and drinking soup and eating mars bars to keep us going! safe to say I never want to see soup again in my life !!

“As I walked over the pallets every night to the camp with a box of torches In my hand seeing all the amazing people stand around the fire waiting for a torch so they could help find my brother jack was wat keep me and my mum and dad going ..
