Damian Barton hoping his team can get to winning ways this Sunday against Clare

THERE was disappointment across Derry that the Oak Leafers didn’t see off Tyrone last Sunday to lift the Dr McKenna Cup.

But the team should be proud of themselves for getting that far in a replay of the 2016 final.

Most were surprised they had reached the final but were equally delighted of their achievement for a second year in a row.

It was a heavy defeat to Mickey Harte’s Red Hand but Damian Barton will have to get his players to forget about last Sunday and concentrate on this Sunday as the Allianz League kicks off this Sunday

They face Clare in Division Two match at Celtic Park – throw in at 2 pm – as they continue to cope without their Slaughtneil contingent.

They are’ll the bookies favourites for see off  the recently promoted Clare team that exceeded all expectations last season by reaching the All-Ireland quarter-finals, and they should pick up the win.
