NI AFFAIRS SELECT COMMITTEE TO HOLD HEARING IN DERRY ON LAND BORDER

THE Northern Ireland Affairs Committee will take public evidence next week at The Guildhall, Derry, for its inquiry into the future of the land border with the Republic of Ireland.

The Committee will hear from Derry City and Strabane District Council, Donegal County Council, the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce and the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.

The aim of the session will be to gain an insight into the views of communities, businesses and other organisations located close to the border, and how these should be addressed as part of the negotiations on leaving the EU.

The meeting will be held on Monday 16 January 2017 at 2.00pm.

At 2.00pm: Michael Gallagher, Strategy Manager, and Richard Osterhus, Funding Manager, Derry City and Strabane District Council; and Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise and Economic Development, Donegal County Council;

At 3.00pm: Toni Forrester, Chief Executive, Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, and Sinead McLaughlin, Chief Executive, Derry Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting will take place in The Guildhall, Derry.
