FOYLE MLA HERALDS PURCHASE OF OLD WATERSIDE RAILWAY STATION

The old Waterside Railway Station in Derry.

SINN Féin MLA Raymond McCartney  has welcomed the announcement by Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard MLA that the process of purchasing the Old Waterside railway station is now complete.

Mr McCartney said: “The purchase of the Old Waterside Station for the development of the North-West Integrated Transport Hub is now complete.

“This progress is welcome news and I look forward to work beginning on the project as soon as all of the statutory requirements are completed.

“This is a very important development for Derry and the North West and will incorporate a new train station, park and ride facilities with approximately 100 spaces and additional facilities to to improve public transport in the City.

“It is further evidence of the Minister’s commitment to development in the North West and I have no doubt will be welcomed by all.”
