POLICE are advising motorists to take extra care on the roads across Derry this morning following a heavy overnight frost.

There has already been a report of an accident on the Belfast side of Dungiven on the Glenshane Road (Dungiven bound lane).

“The road is currently blocked due to RTC. No injuries and we hope to have it open again very soon,” said a police spokesperson.

“Main roads have not been gritted yet and some are treacherous.

“Minor roads are worse.

“Please exercise caution on all roads this morning especially in Limavady, Dungiven, Coleraine and Ballymoney.

“DOE have been informed.”
