strabane-xmas-fayreDERRY City and Strabane District Council is encouraging shoppers in the North West to support the Strabane Christmas Fayre taking place in Strabane Town Centre this Thursday, December 15, from 5 pm to 9 pm.

This initiative is organised by the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership with financial support from Derry City and Strabane District Council and Strabane AYE and features an array of local businesses and local food and craft market stalls.

In addition to the late night shopping offering there will be musical entertainment with local school choirs and St Joseph’s Brass Band, as well as theatrical performances and lots of children’s entertainment such as storytelling and arts and crafts.

There will be a special performance by our breakdancing Santa with musical entertainment from David Oliver while Christmas craft wreaths and logs will be distributed to senior members of the community for what promises to be a fantastic festive celebration for all the family.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Alderman Hilary McClintock says the Strabane Christmas Fayre is an excellent way of showcasing local produce and encouraging people to shop local.

“This promises to be a great family event and the perfect way to start the festive season.

“Not only will you be able to get lots of unique Christmas gifts, but you can sample some local produce and get to meet Santa, as well as enjoy some lovely Christmas carols and meet up with family and friends.”

She extended her thanks to the organisers of the event and to those who are taking part saying she hopes it will be a great success for everyone involved.
