SINN Féin Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney has welcomed a move from the Infrastructure Minister to stop the installation of water meters in domestic properties.
He said: “Earlier this year my party colleague and Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard asked NI Water to end the installation of water meters in domestic properties.
“I welcome the minister’s announcement to the Assembly that the installation of water meters has now ended.
“Sinn Féin is opposed to the introduction of water charges north and south.
“This move reinforces Sinn Féin and the Executive’s commitment not to bring in water charges for households.”
