POLICE in Derry are seeking the public’s help in trying to recover a bicycle which was from a school yesterday.

And they would also like to feel the collar of the teen thief who stole it.

PSNI Foyle Facebook say:

“Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team 👮🏻 NEED YOUR HELP!

“It annoys me 😡 to even have to report this; but yesterday at 3.30pm some young fella around 12-14 years old has entered the grounds of ST PAUL’S PRIMARY SCHOOL on Moss Road in GALLIAGH and has stolen a wee girls brand new Mountain Bike 🚲 As you can imagine she is devastated.

“The bike has 24 inch wheels and is blue and white. (similar to pic above)

“Now, my thinking is that this wasn’t some adult stealing a Christmas present 🎁. The suspect was a child and so surely:

“1. someone has to see that their son/ friend/ neighbour is bombing around on a brand new bike that they didn’t have yesterday morning. OR

“2. The kid may panic and dump the bike somewhere.

“If anyone finds it or thinks they know who took it send me a Private Message or ring 101 and ask for Con Ed Murphy (Reference 864 of 16/11/16)”
