christmas-brooke-parkSINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that the area in around the new Pavilion in Brooke Park is to be used for a Christmas event entitled Tales & Trails.

Councillor Cooper: “It’s great that this event is taking place in the newly opened Brooke Park.

“I have been working with council officials for some time now to identify funding opportunities for programmes in Derry and Strabane to allow these type of events to take place.

“And I was delighted that back in October the council approved a funding package of £15,000 for Christmas programmes across the five Neighbourhood renewal areas in Derry and Strabane.

“The Tales and Trails with take place on Sunday 18th December 3pm – 6pm and will involve exploring Tales of Christmas from around the world told by a number of special characters.

“Local talent will also be on show and Santa will be making an appearance as well.

“I would like to thank the Good relations Department for their additional support.”

Notes Admission: FREE Community Event.

Donations welcome in lieu of Jamie’s Journey, Children’s cancer Charity.
