road-safety-school-meetingA SENIOR PSNI officer and colleagues took a hard hitting Christmas road safety message to young drivers at a Derry school today.

A police spokesperson said: “Earlier today Inspector Hunter from Foyleside & the Moor Neighbourhood Policing Team took part in a joint agency Road Safety Community Engagement exercise at St Mary’s College.

“This exercise involved PSNI, the Fire and Rescue Service, the Ambulance Service and local Funeral Directors.

“It involved a graphic reconstruction of the fatal consequences which can happen as a result of a driver’s actions.

“Te purpose was to make young drivers aware of the importance of safe driving and sound decision making especially over the festive period.”
