SINN Féin Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney has welcomed the announcement by Finance Minister Máirtin Ó Muelloir that the logjam around funding for extension of the Greenway project in the NorthWest has been cleared.
He said: “I welcome this announcement by Minister Ó Muelloir that the impasse in ITEREGG’s £15million funding for the Greenway project in the NorthWest has been resolved.
“This now means that the proposed Greenways from Derry to Buncrana, Derry/Muff and Strabane/Lifford can now proceed.
“There had been some concern that this funding had been logjammed in the system but Minister Ó Muelloir has worked with the Irish government to have the funding released.
“This has now been achieved and I look forward to these projects proceeding in the near future,” added the Foyle MLA.
