BEAT THE BACK TO SCHOOL BLUES AT THE WALLED CITY MARKET THIS SATURDAY

BACK TO SCHOOL WALLED CITY MARKETIF you want to beat the back to school blues, don’t miss the next Walled City Market due to take place this Saturday, September 3.

The market continues to go from strength to strength and will operate in Guildhall Square from 10am to 4pm.

With balloon modelling and a wide variety of tasty treats on offer, a trip to the market could be the perfect treat to put a smile back on some little faces, perhaps not be so happy that the summer holidays have come to an end!

Derry artist, Noeleen Hegarty is one of the stall holders at the market and she believes that the Walled City is something special.

“I have tried various markets and craft fares but none compare to The Walled City Market in terms of organisation, professionalism and especially public support.  The support the traders receive from the Council has also been fantastic, Nicolle Walters and her team go above and beyond the call of duty to make the market a success.”

Working from her studio at home, Noeleen started painting about eight years ago, beginning to sell her work over the past few years.

“My work started purely as a hobby, however, as I developed my skills and my work advanced I found there was a demand for good quality, affordable art. I would not class what I do as a business, rather a self-funding, very rewarding hobby. A hobby which occupies just about all my leisure time!”

Noeleen creates unique and totally individual watercolour paintings which are framed and ready to mount or display.

The personal and unique nature of her paintings make her work completely different from other products of similar or indeed higher cost.

Every piece is unique.  All her work is very keenly priced and something of a perfectionist, if Noeleen isn’t completely happy with the finished piece she won’t try and sell it.

“I wouldn’t want it hanging in someone’s home as a reflection of my work!”

She’s been delighted to take part in the Walled City Market, which has been a perfect platform for her to profile and sell her work, having had great success at the recent Maritime Market. Noeleen continues;

“I believe the North West audience appreciates that The Walled City Market traders put their heart and soul into what they produce, offer only the highest quality products and at unbeatable prices.

“They know they won’t get the same quality & value anywhere else.”

Anyone interested in viewing Noeleen’s art can contact her on Tel: 07718807079.

The next Walled City Market takes place on Saturday 3rd September.

Customers can look forward to the very best of artisan traders, with a wide selection of speciality foods ranging from street food, homemade jams, breads and cakes and handmade crafted products.
