Kenny Shiels side drawn away to Wexford Youths next month in FAI Irish Daily Mail Cup

THE draw was made this morning on RTE 1’s Morning Ireland programme for the quarter finals of the FAI Irish Daily Mail Cup next month.

And 2012 winners Derry City have been drawn away to face a tricky Wexford Youths.

Shamrock Rovers face a tough test in their quest to land their first FAI Cup since 1987 as they have been drawn against Cork City in the in the quarter-finals of the FAI Cup.

Rovers v Cork is regarded as the tie of the round as the league’s third and fourth-placed teams meet for a place in the semi-finals.

Holders Dundalk will face an away trip to 1984 Cup champions UCD in the quarter-finals, provided they get past non-league side Crumlin United on Tuesday night at Oriel Park.

Cup champions from 2014, St Patrick’s Athletic, have been handed a home tie with Cobh Ramblers.

Shamrock Rovers v Cork City

St Patrick’s Athletic v Cobh Ramblers

Wexford Youths v Derry City

Games will take place on the week ending 11 September.

Exact dates and times have yet to be confirmed.
