DERRY CITY City return to league action tonight following their 1-0 defeat in the EA Cup semi-final to Limerick earlier this week.

The Candy Stripes host Dublin side St Patrick’s Athletic at the Brandywell (KO 7.45 pm).

Boss Kenny Shiels is expecting a tough game against a Liam Buckley side fresh from a hard fought 1-0 win at Wexford Youths, on Monday night.

“You can’t overlook the fact that they have a really good team, their league position doesn’t justify the quality that they have,” said Shiels.

“They are a good team we know that and we know that we are going to be in for a big game, so let’s make sure we are ready for that.”

The Candystripes, who are playing their third game in a week, have a few injury worries.

“We have got niggles, strains and injuries, but it gives someone else a chance to come in and bed themselves into the team.”

Tonight’s game will be live on BBC Radio Foyle & Drive 105.3FM ‘Match Night Live’ from 7.30 pm.
