‘RESIDENTS SICK, SORE AND TIRED OF THIS NONSENSE’ SAYS KELLY AFTER VAN TORCHED

SINN Féin councillor Colly Kelly has branded as “disgraceful” the latest attack on property in Derry.

On Tuesday night, a van was set on fire at Westland Street.

The van was taken from outside the owner’s home but the thieves only managed to move it a few yards.

Later there was a second attempt to steal hijack a second van but the owner was able to drive off.

Said Cllr Kelly: “Residents are sick, sore and tired of this nonsense.

“This is an absolutely disgraceful act and should not have happened.

“Once again someone is left without a vehicle along with all the hassle and expense of getting another replacement one.

“Those involved in actions like this have only succeeded in terrorising their own communities by inflicting inconveniences upon them.

“I would appeal to anyone with even the slightest piece of information in regards to those behind this criminal act to bring it forward straight away,” he added.
