Ballyneal orange HallPOLICE in Magherafelt are investigating a report of the theft of flags from Ballyneal Orange Hall in Moneymore.

Sergeant Luke Moyne said: “It has been reported that two flags were removed from the Orange Hall at Brookmount Road sometime between 1am & 9am on Saturday 9th July.

Sergeant Moyne added: “This is the latest in a number of incidents recently, in which flags have been taken from this location.

“I would appeal for anyone with any information which could assist police with their enquiries, in what is being treated as a hate crime, to contact officers in Magherafelt on 101 quoting reference 509 09/07/16.

“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

It is the second time flags have been stolen from Ballyneal Orange Hall in the past week.

There has also been an attempt to burn down the hall.
