A 41 year old man is to face Derry Magistrates’ Court this morning after police uncovered a ton of cocaine cutting agent in England.
The man was arrested in Grimsby on Wednesday as part of a PSNI investigation into the supply of drugs into the North of Ireland.
Detective Inspector Pete Mullan from Reactive and Organised Crime said: “He is charged with encouraging or assisting offences linked to the supply of class A drugs and money laundering.”
Detectives from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch are likely to oppose bail on the grounds of the risk of reoffending an interfering with the ongoing police investigation.
One tonne of benzocaine which can be used as a bulking agent for cocaine was uncovered in the Grimsby area searches which were conducted with assistance from Humberside police.
