MISSING Derry man John Concannon is still being looked for six months after he disappeared.

No new leads have emerged which is why there have been no public searches announced by his family and friends.

Mr Concannon (71), from Altcar Park in Galliagh has been missing since November 10.

John has dementia and cannot communicate.

It is believed he may have got on the wrong bus home on November 10 and became confused when it followed a route he didn’t recognise.

He was last seen getting off the Fernabbey bus at 5.40pm and walking along the rural Lenamore Road in the direction of the border.

Hundreds of people, including rescue experts and volunteers, have been involved in ongoing searches for him along the border and across Inishowen.

A posting on his Facebook page ‘Foot Search for John Concannon’ says: “I know people look all the time for updates on John and I check this page every day without fail in case someone has left information that would lead to the family finding him.

“So just to let people know Community Rescue Services headed by Sean Mc Carry are out all the time with teams and John’s family searching so don’t think he has been forgotten about.

“There has been no leads to bring the public back out on searches but if this ever changes I am sure Sean McCarry will be first to ask people back out to help.

“So keep the candles burning and John and family in your prayers till he is found.

Anyone with information about John’s whereabouts is asked to leave a private message on the Facebook page and it will be passed on to the proper channels. ‪#‎bringjohnhome‬
