SINN Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has condemned vandals who have damaged a bus stop on one of Derry’s busiest arterial routes.

The bus stop is located between the Hazelbank Roundabout and Oranmore Park in the city.

Said Councillor Kelly said: “I have been contacted residents angry that vandals attacked the bus stop on Creggan Road.

“People are simply scratching their heads that anyone who would go to these lengths to cause the damage and inflict inconvenience on users of the bus service.

“This is a very busy road  and people rely on this shelter to avail of the bus service to get into the city centre and local schools.

“I would urge anyone who has information on the culprits to bring it forward straight away,” he added.
