JAMES McClean has urged Finn Harps supporters to ‘Let it Go’ in relation to their victory over Derry City last Friday.
Harps fans were euphoric after Ollie Horgan’s side recorded only their second ever win in the league against their North-West rivals.
Goals from Dave Scully and Ryan Curran sealed a 2-1 famous win after Prodigal Son Roy Patterson snatched one back late on for the Candy Stripes.
But the joyous reaction from the Harps win has rankled former Derry City player James McClean.
McClean – who will be 27 next month – wrote to close friend and former Finn Harps player Rory Kelly and poked fun at the response following Harps win on Friday night.
McClean wrote, “For f**k sake – they’ll be talking about this victory for years, let it go already – only their second league win over us ever!”
James played for Derry City for three years from 2008 to 2011 before joining Sunderland.
After two years at the Stadium of Light, he moved to Wigan in 2013.
Last season he moved to West Bromich Albion and has been a regular fixture in the Baggies first team.
