DERRY is among eight entrants from across the North of Ireland which has been selected from more than 600 applicants to take part in the Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2016.
The finalists were nominated following the Translink Ulster in Bloom regional stage finals in 2015.
The Britain in Bloom Finals are run by the Royal Horticultural Society.
The groups were selected for their outstanding commitment to environmental responsibility, community participation and gardening achievement.
They will join 64 other finalists from across the UK.
In August , the groups’ volunteers will take judges on a tour of local projects and initiatives in the hope of being awarded gold in their individual categories at the annual award ceremony in October.
The other seven North of Ireland finalists chosen are Ahoghill, Belfast, Castlecaulfield, Coleraine, Hillsborough, Newcastle, and Whitehead.
