A DERRY student is appealing for help in tracing her lost suitcase.
The suitcase vanished when she arrived back home in Derry for Christmas this week after getting a bus from Belfast where she is studying at university.
In a Community Notice posted on Facebook, the student says: “I’m a student at Queens university Belfast.
“After spending the whole day in the library finishing up some final assignments you can imagine my excitement of finally getting home for Christmas.
“I rushed to get the 212 at 9:30pm from the Europa bus centre, arms full of bags.
“I had filled my suitcase with all my clothes because I don’t go back to uni again until the 2nd of February so literally my whole wardrobe was in there along with other valuable items and Christmas presents.
“I got off the bus at 11:30 at Foyle Street bus depot in Derry to find that my suitcase was gone. Everything. Gone. I don’t even have a pair of shoes or jeans to wear to work in the morning.
“Maybe there was a mix up and someone lifted the wrong case by mistake.
“The items in that suitcase will be of no use to anyone else but they are of immense value to me.
“A week before Christmas and I now have no clothes to wear over the holidays.
“If you could help me by asking if anyone has this bag please please please get in touch with me or even arrange to leave it somewhere that I can pick up.
“You don’t understand how devastating this is for a 21 year old girl especially with only a week to Christmas. I would really appreciate it if you could help me.”
If you can share this story with others on Facebook the student would really appreciate it.
Or if you have the suitcase and don’t know to return it, send a message to Derry Daily on our Facebook page.
It would be great to reunite this student with her suitcase in time for Christmas. Thanks.
