DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit probing a series of offences committed at the wake and subsequent funeral of Peggy O’Hara have now released a 51 year old woman arrested in Derry this morning.
She had been taken to the serious crime custody suite at Musgrave police station in Belfast for questioning.
The woman was detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
After questioning she was released unconditionally.
But as she was about to leave she was re-arrested for breach of a money warrant and taken to the PACE suite at the same police station.
Detectives also carried out searches earlier today in Derry as part of the probe.
The woman is now the 17th person to be arrested over the INLA funeral last July in Derry for Peggy O’Hara.
At her wake masked gunmen fired shots over her Tricolour-draped coffin.
Then days later dozens of men and woman dressed in paramilitary style clothing marched with her funeral cortege on its way to the City Cemetery.
