NEW TATTOO FOR BIRTH OF SON “HURT LIKE F**K’, SAYS DERRY’S JAMES MCCLEAN

THEY say a picture paints a thousand words.

But when it comes to a tattoo by Creggan footballer James McClean to celebrate the birth of his new son, it provoked an online debate over the word ‘Four’.

He’s been largely sedate on social media of late since he moved from to West Bromich Albion.

But he was back in top form last night after posting a picture of his new tattoo to mark the birth of his son back in September.

He tweeted: “Latest tattoo… #junior #son … Hurt like f#*k

But Twitter trolls – who have made it clear they hate the Derry lad for his political views – were quick to point out a problem – or so they thought!

Four in roman numerals is IV not IIII.

And that’s true for the most part, except for the fact that it’s a regular quirk that clocks and watches often show IIII to denote four.

The reasons for that have been debated among horologists and the like for quite a while but one thing was for certain, McClean’s tattoo was correct and he was only too happy to let the doubters know.

While there were plenty of people pointing out his mistake, the nature of his reply to this one individual needs special attention.

It was a great put down from James and he is back to top form – on and off the pitch.

He grabbed his first goal for the club against Spurs last weekend and he’s becoming a key member of Tony Pulis’ side, no mean feat for someone who was relegated from the Championship last season.

For all his good play on the pitch however, there will still always be a bit of us that loves a good James McClean tweet as much as any dodgy tackle.

Keep up the great work James!
