CANDYSTRIPES FACE LIMAVADY UTD IN FRIENDLY AT THE SHOWGROUNDS

Limavady showgroundsDERRY City will take on Limavady United tomorrow night (Tuesday, December 8) in a friendly. 

It will be Kenny Shiels’ second match in charge of the Candy Stripes and the game will take place at Limavady Showgrounds (KO 7.45pm).

City’s squad evening will feature mostly U19 players, while trialists Niclas Vemmelund (Defender); Harry Monaghan (Midfielder); Jordan Allen (Striker) and Jack Williams (Striker) will also be playing.

Vemmelund won the Icelandic championship with UMF Stjarnan and played a part in their 2014 UEFA Europa League run as they knocked out SPL side Motherwell and reached the play-offs in 2014 before losing to Inter Milan.

Monaghan played with Scottish Championship side Hibernian.

Jack Williams is an ex-Preston North End striker.

The news SSE Airtricity League will kick off on Friday, March 4, 2016.
