TRAGIC… Gerry Bradley (left) and Joe McDermott who were killed on a construction site in Australia

THE heartbroken and devastated loved ones of two young men killed in a building site tragedy in Australia last month are preparing to lay them to rest.

Gerry Bradley, 29, who died alongside 24-year-old Omagh man Joe ‘Hoss’ McDermott after a concrete slab fell where they were working in East Perth.

The pair were standing on the pavement having a cigarette when tragedy struck.

Mr Bradley will be buried in Coleraine, Co Derry, tomorrow, Saturday, December 5, following Requiem Mass at St Malachy’s Church in the town.

Grieving family and friends will then take part in a celebration of his life at Portstewart Golf Club on Saturday evening.

Gerry was a talented golfer and played off a handicap of 1.

Mr McDermott’s funeral will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Omagh on Monday.

His family have asked for donations in lieu to the Claddagh Association in Perth or the Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund.

Both were heavily involved in supporting the men’s heartbroken families since last week’s tragedy.

Gerry Bradley was due home to spend Christmas and New Year with his family.
