The last picture of John Concannon on a bus before he got off at Lenamore Road

THE search has resumed for missing Derry man John Concannon which has now entered its third week.

Volunteers, family, friends and neighbours set off at 11 am this morning from the Irish School on the Lenamore Road.

The focus of today’s search is towards the Derry/Donegal border.

In particular, volunteers are searching in the areas around Bridgend and Burnfoot.

Before setting off, search parties were advised to wear high viz vests and appropriate footwear.

A Facebook page has been set up entitled ‘Foot search for John Concannon.

There is also a Twitter feed called #letsbringjohnhome.

In a post on the Facebook page, niece Rachel Concannon said: “Let’s rally together again.

“Talk to as many people as you can to keep reminding people to be vigilant.

“We’ll try and concentrate on this area

“If possible xxx #letsbringjohnhome xxx please tag others to widen our audience.”

John, who suffers from dementia, has been missing now for two weeks and one day.

He was last seen getting on the wrong bus on the Lenamore Road in Derry.
