Goalkeeper Gerard Doherty signs new two year deal at Derry City

DERRY City has announced that goalkeeper Gerard Doherty has re-signed for the 2016 season.

The goalkeeper has agreed a new two year deal as boss Kenny Shiels continues to build his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Doherty joins Ryan McBride, Aaron Barry and Conor McCormack who have committed their futures to the Brandywell club.

Shiels also confirmed that he will continue to hold talks with defender Dean Jarvis and in the coming days he will also be speaking to a number of the younger players in the squad.

Mark Timlin has left the Candystripes and has joined St Pat’s Athletic.
