MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Elisha McCallion has welcomed news that the Galliagh Post Office at Fairview Road is one of a number of post offices that is to be upgraded as part of a major modernisation programme announced by the Post Office.

She said: “This is my local post office and I am delighted that it has been included in this major investment of local post offices across the area.

“The Galliagh branch will be totally refurbished offering the same high quality products and services but with extended opening hours.

“This is great news for the local community.

“The post office is an essential local service that is widely utilised by the local community and this investment will hugely benefit everyone in Galliagh,” she said.

Further details about the post office can be obtained by contacting them directly at www.postoffice.co.uk
