James McCleanBIG-HEARTED James McClean has helped make a family’s dream come true.

Derry man William Sweeney had opened a Facebook fundraising page to help buy a special hand cycle for his god daughter Kaylee.

They needed £1,500 for the cycle in time to buy it as a Christmas present for Kaylee who suffers from Spinda Bifida.

But when Creggan-born James, who plays for Premiership side West Bromich Albion, spotted the page on Facebook the fundraising came to a sudden halt.

In a post on the page, James said: “Lad that 1,500 for the bike al pay it.”

James generous gesture has not been lost on the family or the people of Derry.

William Sweeney said in response: “Me and my family can’t thank him enough.

“He is a truly a legend with a heart of gold.

“Can’t wait to see Kaylee’s face when she gets her hands on her wee hand cycle on Xmas.

“Legend James.”
