PETER Hutton has quit as Derry City FC’s manager.
His departure comes less than 24 hours after his team were knocked out of the FAI Irish Daily Mail Cup at the quarter final stage in a 3-0 defeat by Cork City.
In a statement this evening, the club said: “Te Derry City FC Board Of Directors would like to announce that Peter Hutton has left the club by mutual consent.
“Derry City FC would like to thank Peter for his service, and we wish him well for the future.
“Paul Hegarty will take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.”
