CAR FOUND BURNED OUT IN BOGSIDE DISTRICT

strand-road-police-station-derry-google-1-1-400x240-20131121-132010-438-1POLICE are investigating after a suspected stolen car was burned out in Derry’s Bogside in the early hours of this morning.

The small two-door vehicle was set alight on Rossville Street near ‘Free Derry Corner’.

Detectives are trying to establish if the attack was the handywork of local teen criminals or if it was the sinister work of ‘violent dissident republicans’ in an attempt to lure police into the area.

Anyone with information the about the arson attack on the car is asked to contacted detectives at Strand Road on the 101 non-emergency number.
